Styling AREA

há 49 meses

AREA is a brand founded in 2014 by Beckett Fogg and Piotrek Panszczyk. As well as naming their brand after the iconic ‘80s New York nightclub of the same name, their work often reflects the style and glamor of the decade, with pieces including structured tailoring and exaggerated silhouettes (e.g. their signature heart-shaped shoulders and hips), houndstooth print, fabrics such as lamé, satin and leather, statement jewelry and an excess of crystals. Their huge list of celebrity clients includes the likes of Beyoncé, Chloe x Halle, Blackpink’s Lisa, and recently, Megan Thee Stallion.

As one of my favorite brands, I decided to style some of their pieces!

Starting with my first outfit, I chose this black satin mini dress which has their signature crystal trim. I styled it with a fur stole, and then added a pair of heels with crystal ankle straps to match the dress. For jewelry, I chose a pair of Ashley Williams ‘extra’ earrings (to sum up the vibe of the look), and a drop necklace to accentuate the deep neckline of the dress. To complete the outfit, add a black mini bag. For my next outfit, I started with a simple black crop top and wide-leg pants, but you could swap the pants for some cycle shorts instead. I then added the AREA bucket bag with crystal fringe, a matching arm cuff and choker, classic hoops, a black hairband, and some strappy heels.

For my next outfit, I chose this Fenty blazer dress to reference AREA’s strong silhouettes, and styled it with their crystal headpiece which I combined with a matching necklace. I then added some black tights with silver glitter, a clear box bag with silver detail, and a pair of clear heels with silver heels to match. Then, I wanted to style this crystal net dress, which is probably my favorite AREA piece on SD. I layered it with a mesh Y/Project bodysuit with beading in a line drawing style, but I also love this look with a tattoo style mesh top which you can find in Subcouture, Antidote, or Special Offer. For a contrast to the glam pieces, I chose a pair of jeans with a cut-off hem, but you could go for some classic black pants or cycle shorts instead. To accessorize, I added some black heels with fringe detail on the heel, a matching black and crystal bag, some silver triangle hoops and a black headband.

I then chose another one of their crystal net dresses, this time with colored crystals creating a crochet-style with the flower. While you could go for a similar outfit to before, I decided to layer it with a simple white slip dress with lace trim. I then chose some earrings, a mini purse, and mules in a yellow-gold color that’s similar to the fringing on the dress. For my final outfit, I chose this cropped blazer in bright blue, which I paired with a white mesh bodysuit with silver hoop detailing, which I thought was a nice touch with the tie on the blazer. I completed the outfit with some bright blue earrings and strappy heels, and then a silver mirror handbag worn under the arm.
