Keep Going!

há 100 meses

It can sometimes be tough to stay motivated when you're working towards a goal. Maybe it's a project with a deadline, or just something that you personally want to achieve. Whatever the case, we could all use some motivation-boosters once in a while to keep us ready to complete the task at hand.

Tell someone about it. Talk to your parents or your friends about what you're doing. They can check up on you and make sure you're staying focused. If no one knows about your goal, it's easier to let it go, since you wouldn't be letting anyone down except yourself.

Do it bit by bit. Say you have one really big goal - running a marathon, writing a ten thousand word story. Looking at that as a whole can be really scary. You can't do something that huge all at once, at least not without going crazy, so my advice would be to break it down into smaller goals. This way you're making consistent progress and feeling accomplished whenever one little goal is achieved.

Write yourself a note. When you first start out on your project, your goal, whatever it is, you'll probably feel super motivated and ready to go, but you won't always be that way. When you start out, write a note to yourself about why you're doing this, why you think you'll succeed, why it's important. Tuck it away somewhere you'll remember it and read it when you're feeling unmotivated; it might really inspire you!

How do you stay motivated?

Til next time!
