Haar eerste grote rol was in 'Casper Meets Wendy' waar ze de eerste live-actie Wendy was. Na dit succes werd Hilary gecast als karakter in de Disney televisie serie Lizzie McGuire. Lizzie en Hilary werden onmiddellijk een hit! Door het succes van de reeks kwam The Lizzie McGuire Film uit in 2003 op nummer 2. Hilary verscheen ook in Agent Cody Banks en Cheaper by the Dozen in 2003, Raise Your Voice en A Cinderella Story in 2004 en The Perfect Man and the sequel Cheaper by the Dozen 2 in 2005. In 2006 kwamen Material Girls co-starring haar zus Haylie en de animatiefilm Foodfight! uit. Behalve haar stem te verlenen aan "Foodfight," zal ze co-acteren naast John Cusack in "War, Inc." a new action movie.
Music
Terwijl Hilary een film en televisiester werd, lanceerde ze ook haar muziek carriere. Haar eerste album Metamorphosis was #1 in de Amerikaanse Billboard 200 en verkocht meer dan 2 miljoen exemplaren met de #1 single So Yesterday. Hilary's nieuwste album Most Wanted debuteerde op #1 in de Billboard 200 en was #1 in Canada en #8 in Japan. Haar hitsingel Wake Up was de #1 video op MTV TRL en de #1 singel op Radio Disney en AOL. Haar tweede singel Beat of my Heart's video was eveneens #1 op MTV TRL. Hilary's concerttoeren hier in de V.S., Canada en Australie zijn altijd uitverkocht. The Dignity Tour is een 2007 concerttoer ter promotie van Hilary's derde album Dignity. Tot op heden zijn enkel de data voor Canada en de V.S. bekend.
Fashion, Home and Beauty
Hilary lanceerde haar mode en decoratie label stuff by Hilary Duff in de V.S., Canada, Australie en Nieuw Zeeland en plant uitbreiding in nieuwe categorieen en gebieden over de hele wereld. Recent kondigde ze de lancering aan van haar teenager design merk Hilary Duff. Ze plant een junior lijn in het najaar van 2007 in de V.S. en het buitenland.
Prijzen en Pers
Hilary's success heeft prestigieuze awards opgeleverd zoals de Kids Choice Awards, Teen Choice Awards en a Young Artist Award. Bovendien stond ze op de covers van Teen People, Jane magazine, CosmoGirl, ElleGirl, OK!. Ze staat op de voornaamste Hollywood lijsten waaronder People Magazine's 50 Mooisten en Teen People's Hottest Stars onder 25 en Young Hollywood Power List (at #4) en was te gast in verschillende tv shows waaronder The Today Show, Jay Leno, Kelly and Regis, The View, enz. Philanthropy
Philanthropy is very important to Hilary. She knows how important it is to give back to others. Recently, Hilary donated money for the Hurricane Katrina relief funds to the American Red Cross and USA Harvest, feeding over 2,000,000 people with the USA Harvest donation alone. Hilary is an international spokesperson of Kids With A Cause, a charity organization which specializes in poverty-stricken children, and is associated with the Department of Public Information of the United Nations.
