How to Survive Nursing School

58 mesi fa

Hello all, today, I'll be discussing the hottest top 10 tips of surviving nursing school!

When navigating the terrifying waters that are Nursing School, one must tread carefully. Amidst the sea of papers, quizzes, exams, simulations, and clinicals, there are few comforts that will help to guide one to the eye of the storm. Here are my top tips:

1. Drink caffeine. If you're like me, and have a heart condition, maybe don't drink caffeine. But if you're like the other 99% of the population, considerdrinking coffee because you have quite a few long nights ahead of you

2. Don't push off your papers until the night before they're due. I can confirm that I've done this, and before you know it it's 8:30 AM and you have an hour to finish 3 pages and full APA formatting.

3. Find yourself a nice, chubby cat to help you destress.

4. Say goodbye to Netflix. It hurts, but it's for the best.

5. Learn early on that no matter how hard you think it is, it's only going to get worse.

6. Never trust a printer ever again. Especially when you have a paper due in 15 minutes and you're counting on a communal printer to work. Trust me, it will choose that particular moment to break down.

7. NCLEX questions might have more than one right answer, but there is supposedly a "most correct answer" in every question. Don't hate yourself when you get your exams back and see that your answer was "almost" right.

8. When you see a "Select all that apply" question, you are most likely going to get it wrong. Just accept this fact now.

9. When you think you have a week off, guess again. Your teachers planned 5 surprise labs and meetings in that week. Start your homework a week in advance to try to avoid these conflicts

10. Build up a strong relationship with your nursing classmates. When you pass out from the stress, your peers will be the first ones to perform CPR and get you back on your feet for the next exam.

I hope these 10 tips to passing nursing school will help you to survive the worst of it. Now if you'll excuse me, I have an exam to study for. Good luck!
