Hello, dolls!

One of the most exciting parts of the new year for me is reading up on all the upcoming beauty trends and predictions. While 2017 fan-favourites such as K-Beauty and highlighters look set to stick around, there is one piece of news that caught my attention as I researched for this post.

It has been predicted; 2018 is the year of purple. 

Some context: Pantone has announced a vivid, ultra-violet purple as the colour of the year. Already, design magazines have picked up this prediction in stylings focused on the bright and bold colour choice. In regards to purple within the beauty industry, we can see this iconic purple within Urban Decay's packaging on many products, but we also see purple tones explored within select shades of the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk palette, Natasha Denona Lila palette and more.

On Stardoll, my doll is celebrating the trend of monochrome makeup and embracing the purple. If you want to create a similar look, ensure that the purple used around the eyes is bright and bold, as to not mimic under-eye bags or bruises. Ensure you have a bolder lip with varying shades of purple on the eyes, especially a lighter shade on the inner corners!
