Relaxation techniques!

We all have those days when we're worried, stressed out and just find it hard to relax. So to help you relieve stress here are some things you can try!

Breathing techniques - One of the easiest ways to relax is to get some good fresh air! What I like to do is take a pillow outside and find somewhere peaceful and comfortable to sit down. Then, close your eyes and take a long deep breath in for 3 seconds, hold it in for 3 seconds and then breathe out slowly. Keep doing this and your body will naturally relax. You can listen to music while doing this if you want.

Treat yourself to some aromatherapy oils in particular lavender or jasmine - Lavender is known to help with relaxation (especially sleeping) and jasmine helps stop anxiety. Both oils can be bought easily in health food stores amongst other places. There are various uses for aromatherapy oils, but a nice way is to take a relaxing bath. Fill a warm bath with lots of bubbles and about 8-10 drops of aromatherapy oil. To make it extra special you can add rose petals into the bath and light scented candles around the room.

Drink herbal teas especially chamomile tea – Chamomile tea is famous for helping people sleep and relax and can be bought in any supermarket for a low price. On the other hand, regular tea and especially coffee can do the opposite because they contain something called caffeine which will make you more restless especially if you drink too much of it. So try to switch to chamomile tea which is caffeine free and works wonders for helping you relax!
