Being Opinionated Vs. Being Rude
Hi dolls,
Sometimes on Stardoll I see a lot of comments left by dolls where they are giving their opinion, but coming across as rude.
I love people who are opinionated, as long as their point is put across well and I can take something from it, I don't see any harm in it.
It makes me quite upset though sometimes, as you might not be able to figure out if another doll is being intentionally hurtful, or if they are trying to help you.
Here a few tips on how to structure your points:
Offering Advice. Don't just leave a comment with "I don't like that outfit". It gives nothing for the doll to work with. Instead try saying "I don't feel these items match, maybe try using this piece to work the look better".
Take A Picture. We all have access to the camera function on Stardoll. If you can take a picture of how you would improve the doll's style, look or suite. They can then look to this to improve if they agree with your thoughts.
Correcting Us. Sometimes we all make mistakes when writing. I know I have on my blog pieces. It annoys me when I see it as I know it is my error. However, I have seen some comments where another doll has just pointed it out, but left nothing for the writer to work on.
I'm always looking to improve, as I'm sure many of you are as well. Next time you want to say something to another doll, make sure your opinion is helpful rather than just stating something.
What do you do to help others?
Hope you enjoy this post.
