The world feels less like a sauna as the sun slips at a lower angle, and suddenly, summer will be gone. That only means one thing: no more sweat ruining our makeup! The September issues are rolling in on the fashion forefront, and it’s jam-packed with pages of beautiful couture gowns, thick knitted sweaters, stiletto boots, and Tiffany & Co.  diamonds reminding us that while we often don’t have the cash to spend on a pair of $600 winter booties, we can still draw inspiration from them. And where’s the true artistry without the pretty lady underneath it all? Let’s put the Giuseppe Zanotti heels aside for the moment and look at the face of the woman who’s wearing them. After all, beauty is only skin deep. Here’s a round-up of our favorite pieces from Fall 2011 makeup collections:

Givenchy Je Veux La Lune Fall 2011 Collection The Je Veux La Lune arrives August 22nd, so just sit tight and absorb the beauty before you. Complete with eye shadows (you can buy these at Sephora now!) in two shades of the moon—black and blue—Givenchy really knows how to keep us off our seats.

NARS pop of cobalt blue and soft pink eyes + lips combo will make any girl the center of attention. Throw in pearls and glitter-mixed lacquer and we have ourselves a party.

“Midnight blue is the only color that can never compete with black,” says Mr. Dior. And we agree. Switch up your fall look and replace your blackest black mascara with something more subtle, but just as bold.

This limited edition fall 2011 collection comes in tortoise shell cases, brushes, and color palette in warm tones of green, brown, and pink. What more could we ask for from Bobbi!

We love the idea of mix-matching eyeshadow colors. Urban Decay masters incorporating the rainbow into our dreary fall wardrobe from colorful eyeliners to dramatic lashes.

Clinique is also following the new black alternative with its new Black Honey collection. The company’s Almost Lipstick in Black Honey now shares similar shades with eyes and cheeks.

Too Faced’s fall 2011 collection is just what it is, midnight in a garden. The dark contrast of something somewhat Gothic is transfused with the lightness and femininity from a bunch of flowers. “Glam biker” is what we would call her.
