Katherine Heigl a visité le Villalobos Rescue Center, le plus grand refuge pour pitbulls des Etats-Unis.
La star de Grey's Anatomy et sa mère ont fait le tour du refuge, qui abrite environ 200 pitbulls. Katherine et sa mère adorent les chiens et s'efforcent d'informer le public de la situation précaire dans laquelle se trouvent ces chiens à Los Angeles.
Le sanctuaire abrite aussi des loups, des ratons laveurs, une panthère, des ours et un tigre.
