Bikini Blues
I will confess, I don't love nor loathe my own body, but the one thing that I, and many other people dread every year is 'Bikini Season' .
Bikini season is a time of turmoil for me, and the months leading towards it can give me anxiety. I never really know weather my body is 'acceptable' for wearing a bikini, after seeing models in magazines and down the runway it is difficult to not compare yourself, and even more difficult to love yourself afterward. My partner often tells me that I'm being silly, and that the only way I can move on is to face my problems head-on. If I continue to eat healthily* and learn to love myself then these ridiculous beauty standards can get lost.
*Healthy eating is different for everybody. If you are thinking of changing your diet in the run-up to 'Bikini Season' or any other reason, please speak to a doctor, dietician or other professional first. For many people, you will probably find that changes are not necessary!
