It's All in the Detail

vor 90 Monaten

Hey dolls,

I'm sure you are familiar with the all important pair of jeans. Well, I'm not talking about those. Although it's not completely off that topic, for I am talking about a subspecies of jeans - detailed jeans or embellished jeans.

Well, what fits the criteria of 'detailed jeans'? Detailed jeans are a pair of jeans with added, well detailing. Helpful, right? An example of detailing could be buttons, sequins, patchwork, sewing, pearls, embroidered, a different texture or even just colour.

Let's be honest, jeans have been embellished since their creation most generally by people prolonging their jeans or wanting more flair. It wasn't until the early seventies when detailing was solidified in high, and mainstream fashion. Back then, it was mainly embroidery, tie-dye, neglected jean look and fringe. Then, in the mid-seventies, Europe found elaborate patchwork and pocket glam to be the best embellishment. Then came the wave of metal embellishment in the eighties. This later evolved to bedazzlements in the noughties.

This brings us today, a time of fashion diversity.

Do you own a pair of embellished/detailed jeans?
