Oscar-worthy films and their Oscar-worthy costumes influence fashion every season.  As Hitchock blondes and James Bond femme fatales march down the runway, they inject their aesthetic into the way we dress daily. Breakfast at Tiffany’s: If Annie represents the cool, laid-back girl from the city, Holly Golightly is her mirror opposite. Hubert de Givenchy popularized the little black dress in this classic—or more likely, Audrey Hepburn wearing it (paired with Ray-Bans and extra long pearls trailing down her back) did. Desperately Seeking Susan: From underwear as outerwear to lace gloves, it’s pretty clear that Madonna was using her own outlandish, trademark ’80s style for Susan’s costume.
