October 3rd

100个月之前

Any fans of the iconic teen movie Mean Girls will know October 3rd as Mean Girls day! I love the film as it reminds me of my all-time favourite film Heathers (as well as Jawbreaker), but updated with 00's outfits that Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie would totally approve of. To celebrate the film, I have created some outfits perfect for hanging out with the Plastics.

Starting off with of course, the Plastics. They all co-ordinated their outfits to each other (pink on Wednesdays, jeans or track pants on Friday!), and stuck to staples such as pleated or ra-ra miniskirts, kitten heels and mules, preppy cardigans, tank tops, sassy slogan tees and monogram handbags (including the dreamy Murakami Louis Vuitton print). As Queen Bee, Regina's style had to stand out, so we would see her in hot pink, leather miniskirts, and hoop earrings (Gretchen wasn’t allowed!). Karen's style was a lot sweeter, with baby pinks, bows and cardigans. Gretchen (my favourite) would generally wear the least amount of pink, choosing red, black, and Burberry print skirts.

Moving onto Cady, who started as an outsider, but soon joined the Plastics and adapted to their preppy style. In the beginning, we see her wearing classic boot cut jeans (a pair with rhinestones would fit the 00's style perfectly), corduroys and flannel shirts before picking up on the miniskirts and tank tops. Compared to the other girls, Cady wore a lot of baby blue, which kept her as an outsider.

Lastly, how could I leave out the velour tracksuit? A holy grail of 00's fashion, and was of course seen on Regina's cool mom! Accessorize with a glam pearl necklace and strappy heels.

Thank you for reading! Who is your favourite Mean Girls character?
